Shade - Hong Kong Orchid

Hong Kong Orchid is a gorgeous spring flowering accent tree.  Upright and rounded, subtropical growth habit.  Briefly deciduous during summer/fall.  Moderate growth rate to 20 to 40 feet height with slightly greater spread.  Large white, pink to purple tubular orchid flowers appear in spring.  This is a sterile hybrid.  Heat-loving (except for those scorching Phoenix summer afternoons when the air temperature soars past 110^oF) only when planted within the midst of a "green" landscape, cold hardy to only 28^o to 30^oF.  Apply water at frequent and regular intervals during the summer.
