Tropical - Passion Fruit - Frederick

Passion fruit vines provide lots of yummy tasting fruit for salads, sherbets or eating right out of hand.  Whimsical flowers will delight you.  Before eating the fruit you need to wait until it darkens to purple and drops from the vine.  You can leave the fruit to ripen further for a sweeter taste or add sugar. ‘Frederick’ can easily reach 15’ high and wide.  It's is one of the hardiest of the Passifloras, surviving winter wet and brief frosts (to 20 degrees F).  This vine does well in heat too.  Self-pollinating.
