Shade - Hong Kong Orchid

Hong Kong Orchid is a gorgeous spring flowering accent tree.  Upright and rounded, subtropical growth habit.  Briefly deciduous during summer/fall.  Moderate growth rate to 20 to 40 feet height with slightly greater spread.  Large white, pink to purple tubular orchid flowers Large pink to purple tubular orchid flowers in terminal clusters appear in spring.  This is a sterile hybrid.  Heat-loving (except for those scorching Phoenix summer afternoons when the air temperature soars past 110^oF) only when planted within the midst of a "green" landscape, cold hardy to only 28^o to 30^oF.  Apply water at frequent and regular intervals during the summer.
